Family-owned restaurant with incredibly nice owners. Quaint, cozy and charming. Food feels deliciously home cooked. The pastries are excellent - and everything is unreasonably low-priced. 120 pesos for a soup, salad, main and flan. That’s mind blowing. Would go back in a heartbeat especially for the flan.

After days of Mexican food, we craved other food. Cruz del Sur, a small family run restaurant, was just the perfect choice in Historic Queretaro. Delicious food, affordable, and warm reception by their owners, Marta and Sebastian. Caveat: is cash only business, so we resorted to international money transfer as we weren't ready pocket wise. All in all, a place to respite from spicy food.

The meal came with a delicious soup, a side dish, fresh bread, flavored water or mate and dessert, for the price you can’t beat it. The owners and their kids were delightful. The interior is plain and understated, simple and tasteful, with high vaulted transparent ceilings allowing light to fill the space. This place deserves to be full all the time.

Just happened in by chance but was pleasantly surprised by this unassuming restaurant. It’s tiny with maybe 5 tables but feels open and cozy. I got the lunch of the day which was soup, chicken stew with vegetables and salad. Dessert was a sweet bread pudding and the drink was also included which was a watermelon water. It’s home cooking style which I miss while traveling. Service was very friendly. Final bill was around 120 pesos! I highly recommend this place.
